Fredericksburg Theater Company’s latest production, the British comedy “Blithe Spirit,” will continue this weekend at the Steve W. Shepherd Theater.
Performances, which run weekends through Nov. 2, will be held Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.
The Noël Coward comedy focuses on novelist Charles Condomine, who invites eccentric medium Madame Arcati to his house to conduct a séance, hoping to gather material for his next book. The scheme backfires when he is haunted by the ghost of his annoying and temperamental first wife, Elvira.
“I am excited about the opportunity to direct this timeless comedy,” director Ashleigh Goff said. “The dry wit and effortless flow of Coward’s dialogue remains the standard that all comedic playwrights aspire. The script is full of wonderful personalities that any actor would love to portray.”
