Students at Harper High School are observing Homecoming-related activities all week, leading up to Friday night’s announcement of who’ll be the school’s next “king” and “queen” during halftime of the football game with visiting Center Point. Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m.

With dress-up days carrying the motto of, “Would you rather,” people were encouraged on Monday to dress up in their favorite holiday attire: New Year’s Eve, Christmas, Thanksgiving or Easter.

Tuesday was billed as “Dress up as a hillbilly or a preppie” day. On Wednesday, students could wear clothing associated with either the decade of the 1920s or 1950s.

Students are encouraged to put on clothing either for a wedding or a rodeo on Thursday, then don the Harper school colors of green and gold on Friday.

A tailgate part is planned for tonight (Wednesday, Oct. 22) in the student parking lot at HHS, starting at 6 p.m. The event is open to the community and will be followed by a pep rally on the football field at 7:30 p.m.

This year’s homecoming court will be introduced during the pep rally.

Queen candidates include Megan Myers, Emily Richards, Taylor Baethge, Kendall Baethge, Angie Pascarella and Sydney Collins.

King candidates are Cole Elliot, Briley Jalowy, Lane Fajkus, Grant Edwards, Micah Middleton and Guy Stevenson.
