• The Fredericksburg Petroleum Club will meet at noon today at Cranky Frank’s Barbecue.
• Congressman Lamar Smith (TX-21) will host a public forum from 1-2 p.m. today at the Central Texas Electric Cooperative community room to provide a congressional update for Gillespie County residents on federal issues. Smith plans to address terror threats and strikes against the Islamic State, border security, veterans’ issues and government regulations.
• The Low Vision Information Sharing Group will meet from 2-3 p.m. today at a new location, Heritage Assisted Living. Heather Bailey, public awareness coordinator, will present the Talking Books program and demonstrate the players and inform the group about the other services they provide.
• Fredericksburg Farmers Market will begin its fall season today at Pioneer Museum from 4-7 p.m.
• Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association will hold their Ninth Annual Ranch Gathering and Gillespie County Youth Commercial Heifer Show and Sale today starting at 5 p.m. at the Gillespie County Fair Grounds. The TSCRA Ranch Gathering will follow with registration and a social at 5:30 p.m. A meal and program will also be held.
• Die Künstler von Fredericksburg (the artists of Fredericksburg) will meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the Memorial Presbyterian Church fellowship hall. This month’s featured artist will be Tina Bohlman, who works with oils and watercolors.
• Today is the deadline to register for the Fredericksburg Independent School District Community Education's trip to Branson, Missouri, Nov. 16-21. The first overnight stop will be at the Choctaw Casino Inn. Other stops include the original Bass Pro Shop and Lambert’s Restaurant. Chances for entertainment include the Lennon Sisters and the Osmond Brothers. Other highlights will include Shoji Tabuchi Show, the Six Christmas Show, the Presleys’ Christmas Jubilee, the Buck Trent Show and the Dutton Family Christmas Show. The fee for the trip is $869 per person, double occupancy.

• Fredericksburg High School will host a "Meet the Billies" Night at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the FHS Stadium. Most FHS extracurricular groups and all athletic teams will be introduced.
• There will be no varsity, JV and freshmen football games this week since all three teams have a bye on their schedule.
• The FHS JV tennis team will play Brownwood at Mason High School today at 4 p.m.
• Fredericksburg Middle School seventh and eighth graders will be playing Lampasas tonight. The seventh graders will play in the FHS Stadium with the White team at 4:30 p.m. and the Red team at 6 p.m. The eighth graders will be in Lampasas where the White team plays at 5 p.m. and the Red team at 6:30 p.m.
• Harper High School JV and Junior High football teams will travel to Mason where the seventh graders play at 5 p.m., the eighth graders at 6:30 p.m. and the JV at 8 p.m.
• Heritage School varsity volleyball will play Hill Country San Marcos there tonight at 6:30 p.m. Heritage Logic plays at 5:30 p.m.
• Heritage Junior High football will be on the road to play San Antonio Atonement tonight at 5:30 p.m.
• St. Mary's football will host St. Paul here at 6 p.m. tonight.
