A former principal at Harper middle and high schools has been named the new superintendent for the Harper Independent School District as the result of a unanimous vote taken at Monday’s special meeting of the school board.
Chris Stevenson, who became principal at Harper in January 2000, was selected to be the new superintendent, taking the place of Pari Whitten who recently left the Harper post to become superintendent for the Sinton ISD.
“I am excited,” Stevenson said about receiving his new appointment, adding that he feels “honored and humbled” to be offered the position of superintendent. He started on the job Monday following school board approval.
