People in need of vaccinations for their pets can do to this month and February in a series of clinics scheduled across Gillespie County.

City of Fredericksburg

The City of Fredericksburg will host its first rabies clinic from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at the Consolidated Warehouse, which is on Friendship Lane behind Fredericksburg High School.

This is a time change from last year.

Vaccines will be administered by veterinarians from Pedernales Veterinary Center.

The cost of the discounted rabies vaccine is $8 per dog or cat. Each veterinarian is sacrificing a portion of their fee.

Canine and feline vaccinations, including those for rattlesnake and “kennel cough” will be available at a discounted rate.

Additionally, microchips are available for $10.

Pet owners may also purchase city license tags for dogs and cats at the clinic.

For neutered or spayed animals, the cost is $5 for an annual license or $25 for a lifetime license. Non-neutered and non-spayed animals’ fee is $10 annually.

A second clinic will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. (also a time change from last year) Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Consolidated Warehouse.

Hill Country Veterinary Clinic will be doing the second clinic.

Rural rabies vaccination clinics are currently being planned in Doss and Willow City.
