      • Gillespie County Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. today to consider a proposal from the City of Fredericksburg to exchange services for land along Barons Creek. The court also will receive an annual report from representatives at the Good Samaritan Center.

      • Fredericksburg Independent School District Board of trustees will have two meetings tonight. During a 5:30 p.m special meeting, trustees will hold a budget workshop and discuss revenue and overall projections. At the 7 p.m. regular meeting, trustee Dave Campbell will be sworn in for a new term. Trustees will reorganize the board and discuss integrating Pre-K and Head Start into a full day. Assistant superintendent Linda Hicks will discuss preliminary STAAR results.

      • Ticket sales begin today for the Fredericksburg Theater Company’s next performance, the musical “Evita.” Performances for “Evita” will be June 19 through July 5, Fridays and Saturdays, at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. at the Steve W. Shepherd Theater. A special 3 p.m. matinee performance will be on Saturday, July 4. Admission is $29 for adults and $12 for children 17 and under. Seating per show is limited to 250 persons. Tickets can be purchased online at www.fredericksburgtheater.org or by calling the box office at 997-3588. 

      • Fredericksburg Independent School District Community Education will offer a class for beginning through intermediate Mah-Jongg players starting today and continuing through Thursday. The class will be offered from 1:30-4:30 p.m. each day at the FISD Central Office. 

      • FISD Community Ed is also offering a number of camps and activities for youngsters starting today and continuing throughout the week. For more information on all of the summer camps planned by FISD Community Ed in the coming weeks, call 997-7182.
      Battlin' Billies Tennis Camp for grades three to nine begins this morning and continues through Thursday at the HEB tennis courts on the FHS campus. Sessions are from 8-10 a.m. for grades three to five and 10 a.m. to noon for grades six to nine.
      Billie Baseball Camp for grades three to nine begins today and continues through Wednesday. The camp is from 8-11 a.m. and takes place at the FHS Baseball Field.
      Junior Girls Camp offers an introduction to volleyball and basketball for girls in kindergarten through second grade. The class takes place from 8:30-10:30 a.m. in the FHS Gym.
      Lady Billies Softball Camp for grades four to nine begins today and continues through Wednesday. Set for the FHS Softball Field, the camp takes place from 9 a.m. to noon.
      Queens of the Court Camp for grades three to six takes place from 1-5:30 p.m. today through Thursday in the FHS Gym.
      Nature Camp for youngsters four to seven years will be offered at Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park. Session one runs today through Thursday from 7:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Session two runs June 22-25.
      Battlin Billies Speed and Strength Camp for boys and girls in grades seven to 12 begins today and continues through July 23. Sessions are held Monday through Thursday. Advanced classes (10th through 12th graders) are from 6:30-8:30 a.m. and intermediate classes (seventh through ninth grade) are from 8:30-10:30 a.m.
