      • The City of Fredericksburg Water Conservation Expo will be held from 5:30-8:30 p.m. tonight at Marktplatz. Three major speakers are lined up for the event with Ward Miller of the Texas Native Plant Society’s Fredericksburg chapter discussing native plants at 5:30 p.m. Miller will be followed by Billy Kniffen, Texas AgriLife Extension Service Water Resource Specialist, who will focus on rainwater catchment education. Jonathan Garner of the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center will conclude the program by addressing simple ways to conserve outdoor water consumption.

      •  Zonta Club’s Wild Texas Angels’ Relay for Life Team will hold the second part of its 13th annual fundraiser, “The Beat Goes On!” at Hondo’s on Main tonight from 5:30-10 p.m. The proceeds will go toward the Zonta Club’s fundraising efforts for the Gillespie County Relay for Life. The family-oriented event will have live music and food. Hondo’s kitchen will be open until 9 p.m., and a percentage of food and beverage sales will be donated, as well. There will also be a silent auction. Tickets to the fundraiser will cost $5 for students and $10 for adults, and includes a luminaria or prize drawing tickets.

      • The Fredericksburg Volunteers in Police Support will meet tonight at the Gillespie County Law Enforcement Center. A board of directors meeting will be held at 6 p.m. followed by the general membership business meeting at 6:30 p.m.

      • Voter registration for the May 9 Fredericksburg City Council and Fredericksburg Independent School District Trustee election ends today. To register to vote in the city election, visit City Hall. Voter registration for the FISD election is at the Gillespie County Courthouse.

      • Central Texas Stock Fish is taking pre-orders through April 11. Pre-orders are not required, but fish supplies are guaranteed for those who place their orders by Saturday. To pre-order, call 512-752-8555.

        • A Spanish version of the food handler's course accredited by the Texas Department of State Health Services will be offered in Fredericksburg on Tuesday, April 21, starting at 9 a.m. at the Gillespie County Extension Office. The cost is $20 per person and those planning to attend must register for the course and pay the fee by April 15.

      • Harper High School track will compete in district competition today at San Saba.

      • St. Mary's baseball and softball teams will host St. Matthew today beginning at 4:30 p.m.
