• Early voting for the Nov. 4 general election begins today and continues through Oct. 31 at the Gillespie County Courthouse. Prospective voters should continue to bring a valid identification. Voting takes place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• The Fredericksburg City Council will meet tonight at 7 p.m. at the Gillespie County Law Enforcement Building. Agenda items include an update on the Fredericksburg Skate Park, a funding request for WiFi services on Marktplatz and an update on water bond projects.
• Fredericksburg High School Band earned division one ratings from the judges on Saturday at the University Interscholastic League Region XI Marching Contest in Hondo. The band will now advance to the area competition on Saturday at Calallen High School in Corpus Christi.
• Harper High School Band also competed at the UIL Marching Contest on Saturday and earned an unanimous first division rating. (Class 2A bands do not advance in competition this year.)

• Fredericksburg High School varsity football fell at Boerne, 38-20, on Friday night.
• FHS varsity volleyball defeated Hondo at home 25-16, 25-10, 25-12, on Friday night.
• FHS varsity tennis team played two matches on Saturday. The Billies lost to Abilene High,10-9, and then fell to San Angelo Central High School, 10-1 (16-3).
• Fredericksburg Middle School seventh and eighth grade volleyball teams will host Lytle tonight in the FMS Gyms. The B games are at 5 p.m. and the A games at 6 p.m.
• Harper High School football and volleyball were open on Friday.
• Harper Junior High volleyball will host Junction tonight at 5 p.m.
• Heritage School football defeated San Marcos Hill Country, 38-24, on Friday.
• St. Mary's volleyball will be on the road to play Mt. Sacred Heart tonight starting at 5:30 p.m.
