Fredericksburg Theater Company’s latest production, the British comedy “Blithe Spirit,” will premiere Friday evening at 8 p.m. at the Steve W. Shepherd Theater.
Performances, which run weekends through Nov. 2, will be held Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.
A special opening night gala will be held Friday, beginning at 7 p.m., with hors d’oeuvres and wine as well as a variety of desserts at intermission.
The Noël Coward comedy focuses on novelist Charles Condomine, who invites eccentric medium Madame Arcati to his house to conduct a séance, hoping to gather material for his next book. The scheme backfires when he is haunted by the ghost of his annoying and temperamental first wife, Elvira.
