• The Fall Fredericksburg Farmer's Market is from 4-7 p.m. today on the grounds of Pioneer Museum.
• Fredericksburg Volunteers in Police Support will meet tonight at the Gillespie County Law Enforcement Center. The board of directors will meet at 6 p.m. followed by the general membership business meeting at 6:30 p.m.
• Dr. Charles Slater will be the guest speaker at tonight's Leadership Gillespie County Reunion at the Nimitz Ballroom.
• Hill Country Natural Healthcare will host a free public education workshop on “Allergies and Asthma” tonight from 7-8 p.m. at the HCNH office. Seating is limited, and those planning to attend must RSVP.
• .A membership sign-up meeting for the Gillespie County Agricultural Commodity Association will be held tonight in the Biergarten at the Gillespie County Fair Grounds. A snaring and trapping demonstration followed by a question and answer session and led by the county trappers will begin at 4 p.m. The barbecue meal will be served at 6:30 p.m. Cost is by donation. Mike Bodenchuk, state director of the Texas offices of Wildlife Services, will speak at 7 p.m. The meeting will follow Bodenchuk’s presentation.
• A "Ceramics" class sponsored by the Fredericksburg Independent School District Community Education begins tonight from 6-8 p.m. at the Fredericksburg Middle School. The class will continue on Thursdays through Nov. 6.
Sports
• Fredericksburg High School varsity and JV boys' and girls' cross country teams are competing in the Lampasas Invitational this morning.
• Fredericksburg High School freshmen and junior varsity football will play tonight. The freshmen will host Bandera in the FHS Stadium starting at 7 p.m. while the JV will play in Bandera tonight at 6 p.m.
• Fredericksburg Middle School football teams will also be on the field tonight against Boerne. The eighth graders play at home and the seventh graders will be in Boerne. The White team plays at 4 p.m. and the Red team at 5:30 p.m.
• Harper JV and Junior High football will host Sabinal tonight in Harper. The seventh grade plays at 5 p.m., the eighth grade at 6:30 p.m. and the JV at 8 p.m.
• Heritage varsity volleyball will travel to play Cornerstone tonight at 5:30 p.m.
• Heritage Junior High football will be on the road to Austin Veritas tonight.
