The Fredericksburg Farmers Market will begin its fall season tomorrow on the grassy lawn at Pioneer Museum.
Farmers market president Thomas Newman said the markets will run from 4-7 p.m., or, as he put it, “Until it gets dark.”
The fall farmers market will conclude on Thursday, Nov. 20 (the week prior to Thanksgiving).
Whether meat or vegetables, customers won’t lack for items to sample or buy. They’ll once again have local, grass-fed beef, along with pasture-raised chickens that produce organic eggs.
There’s also a local bounty of fall vegetables and fruits, including beets, beans, peas, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, potatoes, herbs, butternut squash and much more.
Other items include lamb, Gulf of Mexico seafood, artisan bread, goat cheese, maple syrup, sliders and tacos.
Items also include locally-baked bread and wood-oven pizza. There will also be locally-roasted coffee and other prepared foods.
“We will have Texas olive oil, which we also had at the summer farmers market,” Newman said.
The farmers market also is collaborating with Hill Country Memorial Hospital to serve healthy soups.
