Runners and walkers will be stepping off on Saturday morning, Oct. 4, as part of the Fredericksburg Morning Rotary Club’s 5th Annual Kraut Run/Walk 8K.
Race-day registration and check in will start at 7 a.m. and the race will begin at 8 a.m. at the entrance to Fredericksburg Middle School on Travis Street.
And with the event coming up on Saturday, the Rotarians are reminding participants that online registration continues through tomorrow, Thursday.
The Rotarians are expecting over 200 runners to compete, and the first 200 registrants are guaranteed to receive a technical race shirt.
Race-day registration is allowed, but runners should register online by Thursday at www.fbgkrautrun.com (click on Runners) to ensure receipt of a race shirt.
Registration fees are $30 for adults (17 years of age and older) and $15 for those under 17.
Medallions will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age group, and the top man and woman finisher will receive a beer stein.
A post-race party will be held, featuring Opa’s sausage, Lobo beer and Kelani Yogürt.
Early packet pickup and registration will be held Friday, Oct. 3, from 5-7 p.m. at Jack and Adam’s Bicycle Shop at 206 South Lincoln Street.
