A “Pizza for a Purpose” fundraiser to benefit Wounded Warriors at Nebo will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 28, at West End Pizza Company.

During that time, there will be a pizza buffet by donation, a prize drawing, door prizes, silent auction and T-shirt sales.

Prizes are being collected for the drawing, and items big and small are appreciated, according to Janet Degenhardt, owner of West End Pizza Company.

It was noted that a tax-deductible receipt will be provided after the event.

Donations can be dropped off at West End Pizza Company, located at 232 West Main Street.

“Join us in honoring our troops and their families,” Degenhardt said.

Last year, Degenhardt and her husband, 1LT Hal Degenhardt, wanted to thank the community for the support and prayers they received while he was deployed in 2012-2013.

While in Afghanistan, Degenhardt served with SFAT (Security Force Advisory Team) which trained Afghan soldiers.

With the opportunity to give back to the community, the fundraiser at West End Pizza Company raised over $3,000 for Wounded Warriors at Nebo, a Fredericksburg ministry.

More information is also available from Degenhardt at 830-456-2877 or janet@westendpizzacompany.com or from Sarah Eckert at sarah@acefbg.com.
