• Fredericksburg City Council will meet at 7 p.m. tonight at the Gillespie County Law Enforcement Center. On the agenda is a public hearing on a zoning change on a one-acre tract of land at 402 East Creek. Council members are also expected to make changes to the 2013-2014 budget and approve contracts for a work order system.
• Fredericksburg High School will celebrate Homecoming on Friday night. Homecoming Queen nominees include Delta Wise, Paxten Keyser, Kendyl Stevens, Brooke Rogan and Ariana Chavez. And this year, a Homecoming King will be crowned. Nominees are Kyle Grona, Ty Franklin, Mason Clark, Braden Bowers and Mark Rodriguez.
• South Texas Blood and Tissue Center will host a Community Blood Drive today from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the American Legion Hall.
• An open house will be held tonight starting at 5:30 p.m. at Fredericksburg High School.
• Daughters of the Republic of Texas’ Dr. Wilhelm Keidel Chapter will meet at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Golden Hub. John Koepke will be the guest speaker.
• Local organizations are reminded that today is the deadline for applying for grant money from the Bethany Lutheran Foundation of Fredericksburg, Texas, Inc. Grant selections will be made in November, and $15,340 will be awarded in January 2015.

• Fredericksburg High School varsity football lost to Burnet, 55-7, on Friday night.
• Both the FHS boys’ varsity and girls’ varsity cross country teams finished first in their divisions at the Jacob Krebs Invitational in Harper on Saturday morning.
• The FHS JV volleyball team finished fourth out of 21 teams and the freshmen were sixth out of 24 teams at tournaments in Wimberley on Thursday and Saturday.
• Fredericksburg Middle School volleyball teams will be on the road to Lytle tonight where the B games are at 5 p.m. and the A games at 6 p.m.
• Harper High School varsity football lost to Ingram Tom Moore, 45-26, on Friday night.
• Harper varsity volleyball defeated Junction, 25-13, 25-23, 25-18, on Friday.
• The Harper Junior High volleyball teams will be hosting Leakey tonight starting at 5 p.m.
• Heritage School varsity football won over Our Lady of the Hills, 38-6, on Friday night.
