News

      • Gillespie County Commissioners approved the purchase of computers for county offices and the Pioneer Memorial Library during a regular session on Monday. Commissioners also received an update from 4-Hers on their performance at State 4-H Roundup.

      • Fredericksburg Independent School District Board of Trustees met in regular session Monday night. Assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction Linda Hicks announced the Texas Education Agency’s 2014 Accountability results.  Ronda Hutto gave a Bilingual-ESL report and Superintendent Dr. Eric Wright provided construction updates.

     • Registration for freshmen and sophomores at Fredericksburg High School will take place today from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. At registration, students will be able to purchase a parking permit, make a pre-payment to their cafeteria account, pay any outstanding fines from previous school years and receive their class schedule.

      • Fredericksburg Middle School is holding registration today from 1-3 p.m. in the old gym for returning students. A campus tour for new students will be offered from 1:30-2 p.m. today.

     •  A “Do-It-Yourself Drip Irrigation Class” will be offered this evening from 6-8 p.m. in the meeting room at the Gillespie County Extension Office. Pat McCormick, Hill Country Master Gardener and Master Naturalist, will lead the class, which is presented by Texas AgriLife Extension.

Sports

     • Fredericksburg High School varsity volleyball opened its season with a win over Harper on Monday night. The Billies won three of four sets, 25-18, 25-10, 21-25, 25-18. The FHS teams will be back on the courts tonight when they host Kerrville Tivy in the FHS Gyms. The freshmen and JV play at 5 p.m. and the varsity at 6 p.m.

     • Harper High School volleyball will be playing Brackett/Del Rio starting at 1 p.m. today in Brackettville.
