The Fredericksburg Theater Company production of the 1960s comedy-horror-rock musical “Little Shop of Horrors” opens Friday, Feb. 21.
The musical, directed by FTC artistic/technical director Kerry Goff, will be performed Feb. 21 through March 9 at the Steve W. Shepherd Theater located at 1668 U.S. Highway 87 South, with 7:30 p.m. showings on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. matinee showings on Sundays.
Tickets are now on sale, and they are $20 for adults ($25 at the door) and $5.50 for youth 18 years and younger ($7.50 at the door).
Little Shop of Horrors revolves around a hapless florist who is propelled to stardom by a blood-thirsty plant. The plant constantly requires sustenance. Seymour the florist aspires to win the heart of his co-worker, Audrey.
Also in the play are a Greek chorus of Doo-Wop singers, and a sadistic dentist who entered the profession because his mother observed that he “had a talent for causing things pain.”
As the musical progresses, so does the size of the plant, Audrey II.
