Come rain or shine, the three-day Fredericksburg Crawfish Festival returns Friday through Sunday, May 27-29, at Marktplatz.
“It’s rained on us the last three or four years,” said Joshua Buss, president of the Fredericksburg Jaycees. “It’s kind of a tradition. People seem to like to eat crawfish in the rain.”
“Unless an act of God happens, we won’t shut it down,” Buss said.
At press time, the National Weather Service predicted a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms on Friday and a 30 percent chance on Saturday and Sunday.
Festival hours are from 6 p.m. to midnight on Friday, from 11 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Tickets are $10 for adults on Friday and Sunday and $12 on Saturday. Tickets for youth ages six to 12 will be $5 a day and five and under are free.
