      • Fredericksburg City Council will meet at 6 p.m. tonight at the Gillespie County Law Enforcement Center. The agenda includes a public hearing for Penick Real Estate for a change in the land use plan and a change in zoning on two tracts of land on Friendship Lane, totaling 34.79 acres. Council members will also hold a public hearing for Gable S. Corporation for a conditional use permit to allow a hotel/motel in the Central Business District at 406 E. Main. Council members will also consider amending food establishment regulations and City Manager Kent Myers will give an update on the proposed animal shelter and the parks master plan. 

      • Fredericksburg Independent School District Board of Trustees are meeting at noon today at the Central Administration Office in a special session to discuss the district's audit report.

      • The City of Fredericksburg invites the public to a “Meet the Finalists” event at 5 p.m. tonight in the City Hall Conference Room for the city’s fire chief position. Johnny Caraway of Marble Falls will be introduced tonight. Caraway has experience as the fire chief of the Marble Falls Fire Department, fire marshal of the Marble Falls Fire Department and fire marshal/fire inspector for Copperas Cove Fire Department.  

 

    Sports

         • Fredericksburg High School varsity volleyball was eliminated from the playoffs on Friday when they fell to Columbus in five sets during the regional semi-finals in San Antonio.

         • Harper High School varsity football lost to Holland, 36-22, on Friday night in the first round of the playoffs.

         • Harper Junior High boys' and girls' basketball teams will play Junction tonight. The boys will be at home and the girls will be on the road. Games start at 5 p.m. 

          • Heritage School varsity football defeated the Alvin Living Stones on Friday night. They will now play San Marcos Hill Country at 7:30 p.m. at home on Friday, Nov. 20.

         • Little Diggers Volleyball, sponsored by the Fredericksburg Independent School District Community Education, will begin tonight and continue through Thursday, Dec. 17.
