Gillespie County hunters appear to be off and running with the season, which began Saturday, Nov. 7.
“It was a good opening weekend,” said Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Game Warden Clayton Pipkin. “The overcast weather on opening day enhanced the hunt. It was good and cold and kind of drizzly, so hunters stayed in the stands longer. The deer kept moving.”
