| News • Fredericksburg Volunteers in Police Support will meet this evening at the Gillespie County Law Enforcement Center. A board of directors meeting begins at 6 p.m., followed by the general membership business meeting at 6:30 p.m. Fredericksburg Police Sgt. Brian Vorauer will present a program on the use of handheld radios. • Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce will host its Fun After Five membership mixer from 5-7 p.m. today at the club house of Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Golf Course. The mixer will also serve as a kick-off event for the Chamber’s annual Member- Guest Golf Tournament that will be held on Friday. Tubby’s Ice House will offer their Caribbean fare and platinum member Keg 1 O’Neal will feature summer beer. Sports • Fredericksburg High School freshmen and junior varsity football teams will be in Burnet tonight. The Freshmen White play at 4 p.m. followed by the Freshmen Red at 6 p.m. and the JV at 7:30 p.m. • The FHS JV and freshmen volleyball teams are playing in tournaments in Wimberley today and Saturday. • FHS JV tennis is playing Kerrville Tivy starting at 4:30 p.m. in Kerrville. • Fredericksburg Middle School football teams will host Burnet today in the FHS Stadium. The 7 White team plays at 4 p.m. followed by 7 Red at 5:15 p.m., 8 White at 6:30 p.m. and 8 Red at 7:45 p.m. • The FMS volleyball teams will host Devine tonight starting with the 7B and 8B games at 5 p.m. followed by the 7A and 8A games at 6 p.m. • Harper High School JV football will be in Ingram tonight for a 6 p.m. game. The junior high will play Ingram at home with games at 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. • Heritage High School volleyball will play in the Castle Hills Varsity Tournament today and Saturday. • Heritage Junior High football will host Austin Veritas today at 5:30 p.m. • Heritage Junior High volleyball will play Living Rock today at the First Baptist Church Gym at 6 p.m. • Fredericksburg Ladies Golf Association will gather today at Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course.
