| News • Registration for English classes will be held today at Our Lady of the Guadalupe Parish Hall. Classes are from 9-10:30 a.m. and 6:30-8 p.m. on Tuesdays. Students are welcome to register and attend at either time. • Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Gillespie County, will offer a professional food manager certification training course on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 21-22, at the Gillespie County Extension Office. Deadline for registering for the class is today. The cost for “Food Safety: It’s Our Business” is $125, which includes the training, materials and the national food manager certification examination. • Fredericksburg’s Hermann Sons Lodge meets at 6 p.m. tonight at the Hermann Sons Lodge building. A social hour will begin at 6 p.m., followed by a covered barbecue supper and business meeting. Members attending are asked to bring a side dish, plate and eating utensils. • Dove season in Texas’ Central Zone, which includes Gillespie County, officially begins today and continues through Oct. 25. Sports • Fredericksburg High School volleyball teams will be in Llano tonight where the JV and freshmen play at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity at 6:30 p.m. • Harper High School volleyball will host Burnet tonight in the HHS Gym. The freshmen play at 4:30 p.m. followed by the JV at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity at 6:30 p.m. • Heritage Junior High volleyball will be on the road to play Bulverde Living Rock beginning at 5:30 p.m. this evening. • St. Mary's volleyball will travel to play St. John Bosco this evening starting at 4:30 p.m. • Super Senior Men's Golf Association will meet today at Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course. |
