The Fredericksburg Summer Workshop Chorale, and the Fredericksburg German choirs will present a program of new and old works at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 30 at Hill Country Evangelical Free Church.
The concert is open to the public and admission is free.
The program will include newly written works, such as original text and music, by Fredericksburg residents as well as older music, folk music and arrangements of traditional German songs sung by the Hermann Sons Mixed Choir and the Arion Men’s Choir.
Mark Hierholzer, director of the Fredericksburg Chorale and the German choirs, will direct the concert.
Works to be presented are “Soul’s Awakening” and “The Color of Life,” with music and text by Rachael Kraus; “The Ocean” and “Music,” two poems by Emma Sharpe, set to music by Hierholzer; and “Smoke Floats in an Azure Sky,” with music and text by James Kraus.
