      • Season tickets for 2015 Fredericksburg High School varsity football home games go on sale today. Current season ticket holders can renew their seats at $30 per seat starting today and continuing through Thursday between the hours of 7:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 3-6 p.m. at the FHS Field House. Current season ticket holders who cannot make it to the field house at those times may contact the FHS Athletic Office at 997-6893, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. All remaining season ticket seats will be sold to the general public at $30 per seat, Tuesday through Friday, July 21-24, between the hours of 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and 3-6 p.m., at the FHS Field House.

      • Gillespie County Commissioners Court will meet at 9 a.m. today to consider the hiring of a jailer, personnel in the mechanics department and personnel in the Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 and 2 offices. 

      • The Fredericksburg Independent School District Board of Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. tonight at the FISD Central Administration Building. Agenda items include approval of the 2015-2016 student code of conduct and discussion of the student drug testing summary report for 2014-2015.

      • Daughters of the Republic of Texas’ Dr. Wilhelm Keidel Chapter will meet at 11 a.m. this morning at the Willow City Schoolhouse/Community Center. Plans are to carpool from the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church parking lot at 10:15 a.m., enjoy a “pack your own picnic lunch” at the former country school and then hear about the school’s history. Guest speaker Jane Woellhof will provide a program on the recent Willow City School Stage Curtain Restoration Project.

      • "Lone Star Hoops" for boys and girls in grades three to nine began this morning at the Fredericksburg High School Gyms. The camp, sponsored by Fredericksburg Independent School District Community Education, will continue through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.

      • "Pie in the Sky Baking Camp" for for third through seventh graders will take place from 1-3 p.m. today through Wednesday. FISD Community Ed is sponsoring the camp that takes place at FHS.

      • "Lost Boys Adventures Camp" for four- to seven-year-olds is already underway. Sponsored by the FISD Community Ed program, the camp will continue through Thursday at the Fredericksburg Primary School.

 

    Sports

          • Fredericksburg lost, 31-25, in double overtime to East Bernard in the 7-on-7 State Tournament consolation bracket on Friday. 

          • Fredericksburg’s Junior Softball All-Stars beat Alamo Heights, 13-2, in the Texas West-Section 3 championship game to advance to the Texas West State Tournament in Abilene. Fredericksburg’s first game will be against the winner of Texas West-Section 4 at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

          • The Major Softball All-Stars lost to Eagle Pass, 4-3, in an elimination game Friday night at Old Fair Park. Greater Helotes won the tournament with a 3-2 win over Eagle Pass Friday night.

          • The Minor Softball All-Stars lost to Eagle Pass, 4-3, Sunday night in elimination game that gave Eagle Pass the sectional championship. Fredericksburg won two games over the weekend, an 11-0 win against Alamo Heights on Friday and a forfeited game by Five Diamonds of San Antonio on Saturday.
