The body of Kenneth Reissig, 81, of Fredericksburg, was found in the Blanco River floodwaters after days of searching following the Memorial Day weekend floods near Wimberley.
Reissig was found Sunday near the Blanco River at Narrows Road near the Blanco-Hays county line, reports said.
Reissig had reportedly attended a wedding in Blanco on Saturday.
Family members forwarded an email saying Reissig’s son, Mark, tried to save his father, even as he was being struck by debris in the river, and other injuries.
Reissig was a regular at the Golden Hub and at Whataburger, which cordoned off a table in his honor last week when he was missing.
Reissig was among eight fatalities caused by storms and high water in rivers around Central Texas.
Several more are still listed as missing.
