• Gillespie County Commissioners will make small alterations to a 10-year lease agreement with the Gillespie Central Appraisal District to inhabit the Law Enforcement Building, the court decided Monday. Commissioner Curtis Cameron called it, “the best option at the time.”

• Fredericksburg Independent School District Trustees on Monday night listened as Deborah Ottmers, assistant superintendent for business and finance, presented tentative plans for a budget for the 2015-2016 school year. It includes pay increases for teachers and a 5.31 percent increase in spending from the previous year.
During the regular meeting last night, Logan Minshew presented the Career and Technical Education Report. Trustees discussed the importance of equipping high school students with work skills now rather than down the road. Bobby Kincaid of Pflugerville Architects presented a facilities master plan, in regards to the recently-passed $16.5 million school bond.

• Fredericksburg Middle School Band will host its spring concert tonight at 7 p.m. at the Fredericksburg High School Auditorium. The public is invited, and there is no charge to attend. The concert will include the Beginner Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band and the Honor Band. More than 240 middle school students will take the stage tonight to perform.

• The Good Samaritan Center’s 2015 Spring Fundraising Dinner will be held tonight at the St. Mary’s Holy Family Center. This annual event includes a multi-course dinner, complimentary wine and beer and a concert by Austin singer/actress Kristin DeGroot.

Sports

• Five Fredericksburg High School varsity tennis players are in College Station today and tomorrow for the University Interscholastic League 4A State Tennis Tournament at the Mitchell Tennis Center and Omar Smith Instructional Tennis Courts at Texas A&M University. The tournament is currently on a rain delay with matches tentatively scheduled to start at noon. Competing at the state contest are girls’ singles player Hannah Boubel, the boys’ doubles team Parker Phillips/Sitman Wainwright and the girls’ doubles team of Grace Igarta/Myra Powell.

• The Super Senior Men's Golf Association is gathering today at Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course.
