
News • Gillespie County Extension Education Association will host its Spring Luncheon today in the Fellowship Hall of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. Serving will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets are $8 at the door. Persons can dine in or get their food to-go. Other activities during the luncheon include a country store that will offer crafts, home-baked goods and miscellaneous items. There will also be prize drawing items available. • The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute-Texas Tech University: Hill Country (OLLI-TTU: Hill Country) will offer “Generation Gap–Bridging the Gap Across the Ages,” today. The class will be held from 2-3 p.m. at the Hill Country University Center in Fredericksburg. Fee is $15. Penny McBride will discuss how worldviews are largely shaped by age and the generational influences of childhood. • The Fredericksburg Area Beekeepers will have a discussion about beekeeping tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Gillespie County Extension Office. Christopher Doggett will be the speaker. • A catered luncheon and style show will be held today at the St. Mary's Holy Family Center as part of the Gillespie County Historical Society’s second annual Lenz Fest. Other Lenz Fest activities include the presentation of the Pioneer Spirit Award on Friday and a garden tour on Saturday. Sports • Fredericksburg High School track teams will be back in Devine today for the second-day of the District 29-4A Track Meet. The 3200 meter runs start at noon, the field events are at 1 p.m. and the running finals are at 5 p.m. • The Heritage Rhetoric Upper Varsity tennis team is continuing play today at the TAPPS State Championship. • St. Mary's baseball will travel to play Holy Spirit today at 4:30 p.m. • The Fredericksburg Ladies Golf Association is meeting today at Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course. |
