Former Fredericksburg police lieutenant Linda Lively was indicted Monday by a 216th Judicial District Court Grand Jury following a months-long investigation by Texas Rangers into issues in the evidence room at the Gillespie County Law Enforcement Center (LEC).
Lively was charged on two separate indictments for tampering with physical evidence, according to District Attorney Bruce Curry of Kerrville.
The third degree felony charges — specifically related to tampering with medication evidence at the LEC — are a result of an investigation led by Texas Ranger Kevin Wright, who was contacted by the Fredericksburg Police Department.
A third degree felony is punishable by two to 10 years’ imprisonment and a fine of up to $10,000.
The former FPD officer could be arraigned as early as Thursday, Curry said.
