• Gillespie County Commissioners will consider adding a 15 percent penalty to the amount of delinquent tax penalty and interest for the tax year 2014 during their regular meeting today at 9 a.m. in the Gillespie County Courthouse. Officials will also consider approving additional start up purchases for the new jail.
• The local chapter of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees will meet at 11:30 a.m. today at Andy’s Steak and Seafood Grille. Guest speaker will be Mike Liston, former owner of Liston Tours who will share some stories about his travels.
• Gillespie County Retired Teachers Association will welcome Fran Plemmons, president of the Texas Retired Teachers Association, as guest speaker at its annual Spring Luncheon today at the Golden Hub Senior Center. The group will gather at 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be served at noon. Cost of the lunch is $6.
• The rain started to fall over the weekend, and the gauge at the Fredericksburg Standard-Radio Post this morning measured 63 points. More rain is in the forecast for today.

• Fredericksburg High School varsity boys' basketball team fell to La Marque, 58-41, in the regional semifinals on Friday night to end their season.
• The FHS track teams competed in the Kerrville Tivy Antler Relays on Friday. The varsity girls and JV boys each finished first in their divisions, the JV girls were second and the varsity boys were fourth.
• The Fredericksburg varsity baseball team competed in the 23rd Annual Hill Country Baseball Classic on Friday and Saturday. The Billies finished the tournament 2-2. They defeated SA Roosevelt, 11-0, and El Paso Socorro, 4-3, and lost to East Central, 4-3, and SA Johnson, 4-1.
• FHS varsity girls' soccer defeated Bandera, 6-1, on Friday night. The varsity boys' won over Bandera, 2-0, on Friday night.
• The FHS softball team went 3-0-1 at their home tournament Friday and Saturday.
