• The sun in shining and Gillespie County is starting to thaw out from a week of below-freezing temperatures, frozen precipitation, fog, mist, drizzle and lots of cloud cover. Students are back in class after most school systems were on a delay this morning.
• Pioneer Museum hosted a short visit of the Horseless Carriage Club of America group this morning.
• The Low Vision Information Sharing Group will meet from 2-3:30 p.m. today at Heritage Assisted Living. Phillip Home will be presenting information on personal emergency call systems, how they work, how they are installed and how to acquire a system. There will also be discussion on safety tips for the home to help prevent accidents and an emergency.
• Die Künstler (The Artists) von Fredericksburg will meet at 6:30 p.m. tonight in the fellowship hall of Memorial Presbyterian Church. Visitors are welcome to arrive earlier, at 6 p.m. to mingle. The guest demonstration artist will be Marie Maines, who has garnered recognition for her skills through acquiring signature memberships in the Pastel Society of America, Pastel Society of the Southwest, as well as, Texas and Neighbors.
• The Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual banquet tonight at the Gillespie County Fair Grounds.
• Because of the recent wet weather, officials with The Original Texas Star Trail from Fredericksburg this morning announced that the event has been rescheduled for May 15-21. The week-long 112-mile ride, which begins at the Gillespie County Fair Grounds, will take participants across 40 cattle guards and through more than 20 Hill Country ranches, including the LBJ Ranch at Stonewall. The ride was originally scheduled to begin here this weekend.
