      • Rotary Club of Fredericksburg will host a Valentine Scholarship Dinner at 6 p.m. today at the St. Mary’s Parish Holy Family Center. The event will include dinner, a dance, silent wine auction and a wine prize drawing. Tickets are $60 per person and are available from any Rotarian or at American Bank, Arrowhead Bank, Broadway Bank or Centennial Bank.  Prize drawing tickets are $5 each or 5 tickets for $20. Checks may be made payable to Fredericksburg Rotary Foundation Inc.

      • The Fredericksburg Volunteers in Police Support, Inc. will meet tonight at the Gillespie County Law Enforcement Center, 1601 E. Main St. A board of directors meeting will be held at 6 p.m., and it will be followed by the general membership business meeting at 6:30 p.m. Graduates from any of the 12 previous Fredericksburg Citizen Police Academies  and anyone interested in attending the upcoming academy are invited to attend.

      • Fredericksburg’s local fly fishing club will be hosting Mike Emerson, Texas area representative for “Reel Recovery,” at 7 p.m. today in the classroom of the Fredericksburg EMS Building on Friendship Lane. 
Reel Recovery is a cancer support group for men who are battling or surviving cancer, utilizing fly fishing retreats as an avenue for reaching such men. 

      • Friends of Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Golf Course will hold its annual meeting in the Cardinal Room of the course clubhouse, 341 Golfer’s Loop, at 6 p.m. today. The program is scheduled for about one hour and will cover an update on the “State of Golf in Fredericksburg,” by Director of Golf and PGA Professional, Alan Wooley, a report on the Junior Golf promotional efforts in the community, a treasurer’s report, approval of previous meeting minutes and a board of director election.
