Dale Geistweidt and Natalie Smith Bowman have both filed to run in the May 9 Fredericksburg Independent School District board race.
Geistweidt, the FISD board vice president, is up for reelection. Bowman has filed to serve the remaining one-year term of the late Jerry Durst.
Wayne Harrell, who currently fills Durst’s position, has said he won’t run again.
As of Tuesday, no one has filed yet for the Doss Consolidated Common School District race.
Residents who want to run for seats on the FISD and Doss CCSD boards have until Friday, Feb. 27 to file.
Those filing for FISD can do so at the Central Administration building at 234 Friendship Lane, Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
For the Doss CCSD race, candidates can file in Judge Mark Stroeher’s office at the Gillespie County Courthouse at 101 West Main Street, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon or from 1-5 p.m.
Applications for ballots to vote by mail must be received by April 30.
