• Judging began at 9 a.m. this morning at the 2015 Gillespie County 4-H and FFA Livestock Show and Auction in the Show Barn at the Gillespie County Fair Grounds. The grand and reserve grand champion drive starts this evening at 6 p.m. The annual auction will get underway at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the Exhibition Hall at the fair grounds.
• Pecan Creek Community Club will meet at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at 3410 Pecan Creek Road. Members are asked to bring snacks or desserts to share, and drinks of their choice. After a short business meeting, they will play games of “42” along with card games.
• Forecasters are calling for a chance of frozen precipitation over the weekend. One of the many ways to keep up with weather conditions year round is by signing up for notifications through the City of Fredericksburg and/or the County of Gillespie. • Fredericksburg High School girls' basketball teams will open District 29-4A play today against Bandera in the FHS Gyms. Due to the threat of inclement weather, the games have been moved to this afternoon rather than tonight. The freshmen and JV will play at 1 p.m. and the varsity will play at 2:30 p.m.
• FHS boys' basketball teams are scheduled to play Antonian today.
• The FHS varsity boys' and girls' soccer teams will be playing in the Marble Falls Tournament today and Saturday.
• Fredericksburg Middle School seventh and eighth grade girls' basketball teams will be playing in the Fredericksburg Middle School Tournament on Saturday. The seventh graders will play in the FMS Gyms and the eighth graders in the FHS Gyms.
• Harper High School boys' basketball teams will be traveling to LaPryor tonight where the JV will play at 5 p.m. and the varsity at 7:30 p.m.
• The Harper girl's basketball teams will host Junction tonight starting with the JV at 5 p.m. and the varsity at 6:15 p.m.
• Heritage School basketball will host San Antnio Castle Hills tonight. The JV will play at 4:30 p.m. and the varsity at 7:30 p.m.
• Heritage Logic girls' basketball team will play in the Fredericksburg Middle School Tournament on Saturday.
