Santa Claus will trade in his reindeer for a fire truck Saturday, Dec. 6, and parade into town to visit with children of the Hill Country.
The Santa Day Parade, which begins at 10 a.m., and is sponsored by the Fredericksburg Jaycees, will start where U.S. Highways 87 and 290 split on the west side of town.
Santa and the fire truck provided by the Fredericksburg Volunteer Fire Department will travel east on Main Street and turn around at Washington Street.
The fire truck will turn left on to South Adams Street and end at the Courthouse Square gazebo behind Pioneer Memorial Library.
Santa will be available until noon to take requests from children. There will not be a photographer present, but photographs are encouraged.
Children will also receive a traditional German goodie bag from the Jaycees at the event.
After Santa finishes hearing the wishes from children, he will visit local nursing homes to spread Christmas cheer to residents.
