An evening of food, prize drawings, games, exhibits and more will be featured at the annual Gillespie County Wild Game Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Gillespie County Fair Grounds.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets for the annual event are $20 and are available in Fredericksburg at Arrowhead Bank and Lochte Feed and General Store and in Stonewall at Allied Ag.

The tickets will also be available at the gate for $20.

Tickets include the food, drinks and door prizes.

In addition, prize drawing tickets are also available where the admission tickets are being sold.

Proceeds from the event benefit youth and adult agricultural education in the Hill Country.

So far this year, $72,108 has been donated to local organizations.

Regular recipients of the proceeds include the 13 Gillespie County 4-H clubs; Fredericksburg FFA and Ag Boosters; Harper FFA; Gillespie County Farm Bureau (scholarships, seminars, Ag Day for fourth through sixth graders from all public and private schools); Natural Resources Conservation Service (Summer Field and Range Workshops); Gillespie County Fair and Festivals Association; Gillespie County 4-H and FFA Livestock Show Association; Heart of the Hills Horse Club and Barrel Racing Association; Texas Tech University in Fredericksburg (grants to vintner and enology students), and to youth participating in contests in Kerr, Travis, Blanco and Bexar counties.

“We have enlarged our seating capacity and added to the Wildlife Expo Tent,” said Lester Meier, event chairman. “There will be lots of fun games, hunter exhibits and prizes for everyone — men, ladies and children.”

Meier said, “Our prize drawings and door prizes have been increased and we’ll be starting the drawings early. There are over 220 items to give away.”
