• The Fredericksburg Farmer's Market will be open today from 4-7 p.m. at Marktplatz.
• Registration for students new to the Fredericksburg Independent School District and who will be attending Fredericksburg Middle School takes place today and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the FMS Counseling Center.
• Fredericksburg Theater Company’s production of “The Fantasticks” opens tonight at the Steve W. Shepherd Theater. Harvey Schmidt, who composed the music and collaborated the musical with lyricist Tom Jones, will be the guest of honor at a special gala tonight starting at 6 p.m. Performances continue Friday through Sunday.

• The Billie Boosters will host their second annual Billie Mom Football 101 class this evening from 6-8 p.m. at the FHS Field House. Cost to attend is $30 and includes a T-shirt.
• Fredericksburg High School varsity football players will break out the shoulder pads for the first time early Friday morning as the second annual “Midnight Madness” practice is slated for 12:01 a.m. (tonight) at the FHS Football Stadium. The public is invited to join the FHS Band, Naval Junior ROTC and cheerleaders, who will all be in attendance.
• FHS cross country tryouts will be from 9:45 a.m. to noon today and Friday at the FHS weight room. Athletes are encouraged to bring their own water bottle, wrist watch, a pair of lightweight running shoes in good condition and clothing acceptable for running.
