Livestock judging in conjunction with the 126th Gillespie County Fair gets an early start this weekend at the Gillespie County Fair Grounds.
Three livestock competitions are planned including the Meat Goat Futurity on Saturday, Aug. 9, and the Lamb Futurity along with the Gillespie County Race Day Classic Steer Show on Sunday, Aug. 10.
Judging will take place in the show barn and award presentations are also scheduled there as a part of each show.
The three events are a part of the 126th Gillespie County Fair, scheduled Aug. 21-24, also at the fair grounds.
In addition to livestock judging this weekend, there will also be live pari-mutuel horse racing on both Saturday and Sunday as part of the Gillespie County Race Meet.
Sponsoring the horse racing and livestock shows is the Gillespie County Fair and Festivals Association.
