Forty students “branded” the Longhorn and received their diplomas during Harper High School’s 2014 Commencement on Friday, June 6, at the school gymnasium.

Madison Lang was the valedictorian while Taylor Reid was salutatorian. Of the 40 graduates, 23 graduated with honors. Eight received departmental awards.

Twenty different seniors received a combined $662,000 in scholarships.

This tradition, Harper Independent School District superintendent Chris Stevenson explained, symbolizes that as students finish their education at HHS, they are leaving their “mark.”
