Thirteen galleries will be participating in the First Friday Art Walk Fredericksburg celebration on Friday, March 7.

As part of First Friday, galleries will generally be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The participating galleries will be offering special events, demonstrations, art talks, meet-and-greets with the artists, opening receptions and more.

For more information, visit the FFAWF website, www.FFAWF.com, for the latest news by First Friday Art Walk participating galleries.

This month’s schedule of events:

Agave Gallery, 208 East San Antonio, will be hosting “The Art of Donna Lafferty — Watercolors and Acrylics” featuring paintings of statues Lafferty has encountered at art museums and in gardens.

Fredericksburg scenes,  still life paintings and impressionist florals round out the show’s theme.

A signature member of the Nevada Watercolor Society and winner of the 1999 Las Vegas Art Museum sculpture competition, Lafferty has also been the commissioned artist for three different festivals held in Fredericksburg.

An artist reception will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday.

Live music by Mike Childs and the Agave Singers will be featured in the courtyard.

Patrons are invited to visit the gallery all day Friday to see original art, meet the artists and enjoy wine and refreshments from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Artisans At Rocky Hill, 234 West Main, will be welcoming the newest creations from Texas artist Casey Craig during “In Living Color: The Art of Casey Craig.”

Craig is a mixed media artist whose pieces feature animals and other natural elements in “colorful, yet peaceful surroundings.”

The artist will be in attendance during First Friday Art Walk Fredericksburg on Friday from 5-8 p.m.

The show continues through March 21.
