This young lady and others will be competing at this weekend's Harper Livestock Show.
FFA and 4-H youths are busy this week preparing their project animals to step into the ring for the annual Harper Livestock Show slated this Saturday, Dec. 14.
Expected to go before the judges this year is a total of 143 animal entries — a decrease of about 27 animals from the previous year’s stock show.
Registered for the show are: 47 swine, 16 angoras, 1 heifer, 20 lambs, 47 goats, 11 steers and 1 breeding sheep.
They will be shown by youths who are members of Harper FFA, Harper 4-H and Doss 4-H or who are 4-H members elsewhere in the county, but who are enrolled in the Harper Independent School District from first through 12th grades.
Check-in/weigh-in time for all animals participating this year will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at the Harper show barn, located at the back of the HISD campus.
Judging rounds start Saturday at 9 a.m.
