Area residents will once again be able to take a 2,000-year trip through time at Bethany Lutheran Church, when it holds its 13th annual presentation of “A Christmas Journey” Friday and Saturday, Dec. 13-14, from 6-8:30 p.m.
As they drive in their own vehicles or ride on the Bethany bus or wagons provided by the church, visitors can see the story of the birth of Jesus Christ in nine scenes with live actors and animals.
Those scenes include the prophet foretelling the birth of Christ, the annunciation of the angel to Mary, the decree of Caesar, the journey to Bethlehem, the innkeeper denying lodging, the angels proclaiming His birth to the shepherds, the manger scene, the presentation of the child to Simeon and the journey of the Magi.
Members of the congregation will dress in period costume to depict the nine scenes.
