Friends and family are starting to gather for Thanksgiving, and with that in mind, some businesses and offices in Fredericksburg and Gillespie County are closing or modifying their schedules this week.
Many will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28. Meanwhile, some will reopen Friday, and others will remain closed for an extended weekend.
School students will also be getting an extra-long break from the classrooms.

Government
•Federal offices: Closed Thursday.
•State offices: Most closed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
•County offices: Closed Thursday and Friday.
•City offices: Closed Thursday and Friday.
