Gillespie County Commissioners approved annual funding for three of its six rural fire departments during its regular session Monday, Nov. 25, at the courthouse.
Reports were accepted from and payments were approved for the following departments: Harper Volunteer Fire Department, which will receive $16,900 from the county for its fire department service, and, Tierra Linda and Doss Volunteer Fire Departments, which will both receive $10,790 each in disbursements from the county. All three departments will also receive payments from the county of $2,750 each for their emergency medical/first responders operations.
In other business, county officials took care of routine business matters, as well as:
• Reappointed Keith Keller and Gary Stehling to three-year terms on the Gillespie County Airport Advisory Board, as well as Tony Klein and Marty Kaderli to two-year terms on the Gillespie County Economic Development Commission Board.
