
News • Gillespie County Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. this morning to consider a settlement offer by Sedalco, Inc. to close out claims concerning delayed completion of the new jail and a reduction in its “guaranteed maximum price” of the jail contract. • Friends of Enchanted Rock will present "Amazing!" on Wednesday at the group pavilion. Dr. Kent Rylander, professor emeritus Texas Tech University, will share some "amazing" things about animals. Participants are asked to gather starting at 10:30 a.m. and the program begins at 11 a.m. A guided hike will follow. There is no fee for the program, but standard park entrance fees apply. Those participating can bring a brown bag lunch. • "Sweet Spots Camp" for second through seventh graders will be offered today through Wednesday by the Fredericksburg Independent School District Community Education program. The camp takes place from 10 a.m. to noon at Fredericksburg High School. • "Billie Volleyball Camp" for ninth graders is underway today through Thursday from 8-10:30 a.m. in the FHS Gym. The camp is sponsored by the FISD Community Ed. • FISD Community Ed is sponsoring "Japanese Art Camp" for second through seventh graders from 1-3 p.m. today through Wednesday at the Fredericksburg Elementary School. • "Battlin' Billies Pre-Season Football Camp" for seventh and eighth graders and "Battlin' Billies Football Boot Camp" for ninth graders is scheduled by FISD Community Ed Monday through Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the FHS Field House.
