Gillespie County Crime Stoppers has doubled the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder of Linda Muegge, a Fredericksburg resident killed in her home which was then burned down eight years ago.

The reward, now $10,000, is valid through July 31.

“Linda’s friends and family and our entire community have been left with unanswered questions for the past eight years. We are hopeful that this large reward will prompt someone to come forward with information which will help police solve this crime and bring closure to her family and the community,” Gillespie County sheriff’s deputy and Crime Stoppers coordinator Joe Folse said.

Muegge, 55, was discovered May 14, 2007 at her home at 506 Franklin Street. A complete profile on the killer has been difficult to pin down, though police believe the killer is likely a male who knew Muegge.

“If you know anything, please tell us,” Fredericksburg Police Chief Steve Wetz said. “Someone out there knows and has information about this murder. Please don’t hesitate to come forward and anonymously share your information with us.”

Investigators continue to pursue the now-cold case, utilizing resources at the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Behavior Analysis Unit in Quantico, Virginia.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to call the Gillespie County Crime Stoppers anonymously at 997-8477 or text “TIP 830” to 274637 (CRIMES).
