      • Fredericksburg Farmer's Market will be open from 4-7 p.m. today at Marktplatz.

      • The Hill Country Criminal Defense Lawyers Association is holding the 2015 public reading of the Declaration of Independence today starting at 12 noon on the steps of the Gillespie County Courthouse. The public is invited to take part by reading or watching and celebrating the occasion. The event is in conjunction with the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. A reading of the Declaration of Independence will take place on the front steps of 100 Texas courthouses today and Friday.

      • The Low Vision Resource Information Group will meet from 2-3:30 p.m. today at Heritage Assisted Living Center. A Lighthouse for the Blind representative will be there to answer questions on the upcoming three-day training in San Antonio for those who want to attend at the expense of the Light House. Group coordinator Rita Irons will also discuss tips and ways of dealing with the stress that comes with vision loss.

Sports

      • The Fredericksburg Minor Softball All-Stars beat Boerne, 6-5, last night to win their district and advance to sectionals. The sectional tournament begins July 9 in Eagle Pass.
 
      • Fredericksburg Major Softball plays at 7 p.m. tonight in Old Fair Park for the District 26 title against Kerrville.
